AYURVEDIC SELF PULSE DIAGNOSIS COURSE 1

Context of the Course

Self care becomes increasingly important as health care is becoming exorbitantly expensive and many are without adequate health insurance. In the great healing tradition of Ayurveda, prevention is primary. Utilizing pulse diagnosis as one of its primary methods of assessment, imbalances can be detected long before disease occurs. Pulse diagnosis is a skill everyone should have to maximize their health and prevent disease.

 Course Description

The purpose of this course is 3-fold:

  1. To provide adequate skill in self-pulse diagnosis so that students can accurately assess their state of balance.
  2. To teach the general principles and concepts of Ayurveda in the context of learning pulse diagnosis.
  3. To provide students with concrete methods for correcting imbalances and maximizing their health.

This course is highly experiential and provides in-class experiments to make learning the pulse and the relevant Ayurvedic principles easy. It is also a mini-course in Ayurvedic prevention with home exercises that allow students to correct imbalances and improve health as they learn to observe these changes in their own pulses.
